The Guideline Development Tool (GDT) is a software bundle supporting the process of development of health care recommendations (e.g. in clinical practice guidelines). Integral to its use will be the completely redesigned GRADEpro – software used by authors of systematic reviews, guideline developers and others involved in health care decision making to create summaries of the evidence supporting health care decisions. The complete bundle will provide additional modules facilitation various stages of summarizing of the evidence and the process of decision making in health care, e.g. clinical and public health guidelines and coverage decisions.

  • Support for communication, polling, voting and other forms of interaction among multiple stakeholders providing input (e.g. guideline panel members)
  • Integration with Cochrane Collaboration's Review Manager (RevMan) statistical software for performing meta-analyses
  • Essential reference management with ability to import references from files written in several common formats, e.g. PubMed, EndNote and Reference Manager RIS format
  • Ability to create templates to produce various types of electronic and printable documents based on the information collected ateach step of the process
  • Interactive Summary of Findings (SoF) tables
